Optic Neuritis

Causes include:

  • MS – Most common cause

  • Autoimmune – SLE, Sarcoidosis, DM

  • Infection – Syphilis, Measles, Mumps


Presents with a Central scotoma – Central patch of vision loss (i.e. enlarged blind spot).


Managed with Methylprednisolone.
