Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes widespread pain and tenderness in the body, often accompanied by fatigue, sleep problems, and cognitive difficulties. It can affect people of any age, but is most commonly diagnosed in middle-aged women.

The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unclear, but it may be related to abnormal pain processing in the central nervous system.


Symptoms can be exacerbated by stress, physical activity, and weather changes. It's features include:

  • Widespread pain and stiffness

  • Fatigue, tiredness, sleep difficulty

  • Depression and anxiety


Treatment often involves a combination of medications, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications such as stress management and regular exercise.
