Vasculitis
Vasculitis is the inflammation of blood vessels, and is classified into 3 categories:
Small Vessel - Henoch-Schoenlein Purpura (IgA vasculitis), Microscopic Polyangiitis, Granulomatosis with polyangiitis
Medium Vessel - Kawasaki Disease, Polyarteritis Nodosa
Large Vessel - GCA, Takayasu’s Arteritis
Clinical Features:
Purpura - non-blanching spots from blood leaking out of vessels under the skin
Arthralgia, Myalgia
Peripheral neuropathy
Diarrhoea, Abdominal pain
Anterior uveitis and scleritis
HTN
Bloods:
ESR, CRP - Raised
ANCA - +ve in many cases
Management - Steroids + Immunosuppressants
