Bowens Disease

This is a SCC in situ. A superficial form of SCC in which the dysplastic cells are confined to the epidermis.


Presentation

  • Irregular scaly plaques up to several cm’s in diameter

  • Often orange-red colour, but may be brown

Management

  • Observation if the risk of invasive SCC is low

  • Excision

  • Cryotherapy

  • Imiquimod cream
