Melanocytic Naevi

Also known as a Mole. It's a common benign skin lesion due to a local proliferation of melanocytes.


It presents as a small area of hyperpigmentation. At first, it looks very similar to a melanoma but, over time, the melanoma with become larger and more distorted in its appearance (ABCDE).

It's managed with:

  • Excision

  • Shaving

  • Electrosurgery

  • Laser therapy
