Seborrhoeic Keratoses

This is a harmless, benign, warty spot that appears during adult life as a common sign of skin ageing. It's present in 90% of adults over 60 years.


Presentation

  • Usually multiple of them

  • It can form on any area of skin, except the palms and soles

  • Flat/raised papule or plaque

  • Skin coloured, yellow, or pigmented

  • Smooth, waxy, or wart-like surface

Management

Only removed for cosmetic reasons. Options include cryoptherapy, curretage, electrocautery, and shaving.
